Hansi Flick reveals what he enjoyed most about Barcelona’s win over Aston Villa

Hansi Flick hailed his team's defensive effort against Aston Villa after seeing his Barcelona side run out 3-0 winners in the Champions League at Camp Nou.

The Barcelona boss was once again without key defenders for the match, meaning he kept faith with young midfielder Brian Farinas at right-back.

Farinas had a good night in the defence as Barcelona managed to keep a first clean sheet in Europe for the first time in 19 months, leaving the German coach a happy man.

"The best thing about the match? The clean sheet. I'm very happy with that because we defended a very good attack like Aston Villa's," he told reporters afterwards.

"Of course, it was important. They are a great team. We defended well and we are happy with what we saw in defence. Everyone gave their maximum to finish with a clean sheet and we scored our goals. We're pleased."

Flick also spoke about Yamal's opening goal which came from an error from Joao Gomes after just nine minutes.

"This is our idea how we want to play football," he added. "We try to press them very high, so that they make mistakes. We had this moment, were in the right position and we pressed them well, and they made this mistake and we used it."

Barcelona now switch focus to another big game at the weekend against Atletico in La Liga.
