Vinícius Júnior handed four-match ban and set to miss El Clásico
The Spanish Football Federation announced on Wednesday that Vinícius Júnior has been handed a four-match suspension following his red card against Villarreal.
The Real Madrid winger will now miss several key fixtures for the Spanish giants. As a result, the Brazilian forward will be unavailable for Real Madrid's trip to Barcelona on 25 October. He will also miss matches against Sevilla, Racing Santander and Valencia.
Vinícius was shown a straight red card following a VAR review, despite having scored during the match. The dismissal came after he pulled Nathan Saliba's hair earlier in the move.
The Brazilian will therefore have to wait until 22 November to return to La Liga action, when Real Madrid are scheduled to face Celta following the international break.
Now in his ninth season at Real Madrid, Vinícius has featured in all nine of the club's official matches this season under José Mourinho. He has scored one goal and provided three assists so far.
